Captains update: Dear members, it's been a while since I last communicated with you all, so firstly I hope that you and your families are keeping safe and well as we see this virus starting to ease up! But as always stay vigilant and keep to social distancing. It's great to see members and guest back on the course and the steady improvement of the course itself, Richard has done an amazing job and with three members of his team back full time now I see things continuing to improve as we go through the rest of this year. We are hosting the first competition since the lockdown, The Colin Blinkhorne Board Comp will be held on Saturday, 27 June and is full of 66 entries, which is fantastic news. The fixture committee will be meeting to plan out the rest of the season in the coming weeks, we will post the remaining fixtures on the club notice-board when the clubhouse re-opens or somewhere where you will have access too. I also wanted to mention that my “Captain’s away Weekend” (5-6th September) is still going ahead as planned, a final decision will be made early August pending Hotel opening rules etc. It's been good to see some new faces at the club and with 10+ new members joining I hope to have around with all of them over the coming months. I am hoping you have been following Richard (Head Greenkeepers) post from the club, with a restricted workforce he has had to manage priorities and I feel as many others are doing a great job, the 2nd green has recovered well through the last 3 months and the rough, fairways and tee boxes are now being cut on a regular basis, we have had some welcome rain over the past few days that will only help the course going forward. Finally, I would like to say a massive thank you to you all, since we have returned to the club following social distancing and restricted facilities I still see and feel a great atmosphere between us all, no matter if you're in a Roll up, pairs etc, everyone seems to have a smile on their face and glad to be back playing, keep it up all of you and hopefully we can all meet up safely in the near future. Keep safe everyone. Jake Day
