I Hope everyone’s keeping safe.

With two of us working we’re managing to cover the basics and there’s been a big improvement in some areas. Tees have fully recovered from the winter with good grass cover. There’s a few dandelions on some which will be sprayed off as soon as possible. Grass cover on the greens has also improved, they’re still at winter height at present to reduce stress and I’ll start to gradually reduce the height over the next few cuts in preparation for when we can open. The disease scars on the 2nd green have been the slowest to recover due to the amount and size but have improved a lot just in the last few days.
Fairways were sprayed for weeds which has worked really well. I dropped the height of cut on the fairways as soon as we closed and the lower height has really encouraged the sward to thicken and they’re now in great shape. We’ve got a couple of cuts done on the rough to stop it growing out of control but this can be rectified fairly quickly once needs be.
Outside of the main playing surfaces are where we haven’t had time to work. These things will take a bit of time to sort out so a lot depends on how much notice we get about opening. There may be an overlap with catching up on some jobs but it’s minor things like strimming around signs, trees etc, which although look untidy won’t hinder getting people back out on the course and enjoying it once more.
When we closed, the course was still in winter conditions and wet. With the rest it’s had and now being in the growing season I hope you’ll see the massive difference from then to where the course is now.
