A Message from F&B Manager Sophie Greenhill

My last working day before I start my maternity will be Sunday 12th January.

We are currently in the process of recruiting for my replacement, but until then you will be in the capable hands of Vicki & Abi!

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the best group of members! Nearly 2 years ago I started at the Welcombe and I’ve built some really great friendships over that time. I’m looking forward to the next challenge in my life which will be looking after our twin girls. Here’s to sleepless nights and dirty nappies!

I won’t be a stranger and will still be popping into the golf club but until then, I wish you all a great season ahead and will hopefully see you all soon.

Speed Quiz

Following the great success of the SPEED QUIZ we held last year, we will be holding another on February 28th at 7pm.

We had over 90 people turn up for the last event and the feedback was very positive. If you would like to register a team of between 4-6 persons, please email Carolyn with your Team Name and the number of players.

It really helps organisation if you pre-enter but teams are welcome to join us on the night. The cost is £5pp and ALL of the proceeds are for Charity.

There will be an inclusive game with fun prizes and a raffle held on the evening too and also proceeds to the Captains Charity which this year is THE MYTON HOSPICE.

After all these years of hiding it, our Handicap Secretary Simon Bridges has finally come out of the closet!

Hands up if you’re still feeling stuffed from the excessive (but highly enjoyable) eating over the festive period...

We’re not going to ask anything too strenuous of you this week as we ease our way into the new year so don’t worry! Instead, take a quick look at the image below and see if any of it looks familiar to you.

With a new season upon us and plenty of new products arriving in your local pro shop over the next few months (more on this in the coming weeks), now’s the perfect time to wave goodbye to the old tatty golf shoes, the worn-out gloves in a pile at the bottom of your bag, and the golf balls with more scuff marks than dimples!

If you’re the type of golfer who keeps on top of their equipment then we salute you but if any of the above rings true, pop by the shop this weekend and give your stuff a winter MOT. We’re always here to help.

All you need and more

Cold hands are fun for no-one and neither is getting soaked from an unexpected shower whilst out on the course. Fortunately, both of these issues are easily eradicated by a few simple accessories from our friends at Motocaddy.
