Greenkeepers Report
Hello all,
Well, what a week it’s been regarding the weather!! In the past week alone, we have had 1.2 inch of rain fall over the course, today (Thursday 14th) we are experiencing heavy rain all day and surfaces are not coping with the amount of water.
This week we have continued with the battle of completing the renovations on the greens, yesterday was our only dry day of the week and we bit the bullet to apply 20 tonnes of sand to fill the remainder of the holes in. thankfully we completed the work. This rain today will help wash the surfaces in. Plenty of roped areas around the course now, please try not to pull out the posts as we end up going around each day putting them all back in – Thank You!
This week we have introduced yellow concrete markers around the tee areas. This will be the measured course for winter. Mats will go alongside the markers start of December. Eagle will be measuring the course next Tuesday.
Leaves…leaves and more leaves… we are continuing to clear areas around the course. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions we are struggling to have the tractor blower out there to clear large areas. Conditions are too wet for a heavy machine to be out on the course.
All in all, the weather is defeating us. We are trying our best to keep the course playable each day. The past 4 weeks we have completed all the renovations. It is a very tough time of year to complete renovations, but I am very happy with the recovery and how the surfaces have responded. The course is looking in a possible position ready for the next year.
Many thanks,
Billy Hayes and the team.

#468FCD ;text-align:left">Stats that'll make you thinkYou don’t get to a single-figure handicap without having a strong iron game, but the journey shouldn't end there. For us, there are two key factors that, when combined properly, will help take your iron play to the next level. |
1) Get custom-fitted If you're serious about shooting in the 70s each and every round, then getting custom-fitted for your next set of irons is key. PING’s i500 model feel fantastic off the face and provide precise distances and control, but that's no good if you're using the wrong shafts or you need 2-degrees flat but yours are standard.
2) Know your yardages The second stat above is remarkable and if you're one of the 21%, you need to come and see us for a gapping session. There we can give you the distances you hit each of your clubs as well as spot any issues you have between clubs.
