Senior Captain's away day This season's Senior Captain's away day took place yesterday (Wednesday) at Bransford Golf Club near Worcester in perfect conditions and glorious sunshine. The course was also in excellent condition set in countryside around 14 lakes, comprising a challenging six par 3's, six pars 4's and six par 5's. A number of competitions were fought for in a friendly yet competitive manner. The longest drive was won by John Keeley, nearest the pin by Joe Harvey (whose team with Tom Lindsay, Keith Lazenby and Geoff Wentworth also won a 'yellow ball' competition) but the overall winner was Graeme Hogg who maintained an impressively clean sheet and 35 points. A thoroughly enjoyable day was rounded off with a fine dinner, a few drinks, prize giving and a little banter. A great deal thanks from all the participants went to John Keeley for doing a fantastic job of organising the day. Future Senior events are matches away to Stratford Oaks on Thursday 14th, at home to The Warwickshire on Wednesday 20th June, with the Hallmark Challenge Trophy being contested at Cambridge on Sunday/Monday 8/9th July.
