Course news

Hottest Bank Holiday weekend on record

Well it doesn’t get much better than that does it? Unfortunately, I didn’t get to take advantage of the sun this Bank Holiday but, with all three days booked out till 3pm, it was great to see everyone enjoying the weather. The Golf Club team would like to thank everyone for being patient this weekend as I can imagine pace of play was slightly behind due to the volume of golfers. I am sure everyone will join me in thanking Patrick and Barry for keeping on top of the play and ensuring the golfers got away on time, thank you gents.

Look out for the two Monkjack’s that are currently camping out down the drive.

Spring Classic

Well done to the 60 competitors who competed in the Spring Classic on Saturday. 60 competitors battled it out in sweltering conditions but congratulations to Matt Gill who grabbed first place.

First place - Matt Gill - £60.
Second place - Rob Eardley - £40.
Third place - Neal Tugman - £35.
Fourth place - Mark Newton - £25.
Fifth place - Nick Keaney - £20.

Two's - £10 per person; Martin Joshua, Ian McCann, Nigel Cooper, Iain Lythall and Walter Fallon.

Trust = Power

Let’s face it: we all want to hit the ball further. Being able to hit longer drives gives you less club into the green, making everything that little bit easier. There are many ways you can try and generate more power during your swing, and nearly all of them start from the ground up.

Replace your long irons
