When will the rain stop?

After last week’s positive newsletter, I thought the weather was to stay but I think I jinxed it for everyone. We are still a few weeks behind with the golf course but, the greenkeepers continue to work hard ensuring it gets back to its best.

Spring Classic draw

April Stableford

The April Stableford which was supposed to be played last Saturday has now been re-scheduled to Saturday 26th May.

Seniors Coffee & Coaching Monday Mornings - £10pp - Starting 7th May

Running every Monday morning between 8-9am, includes PGA Tuition, Range Balls and a FREE coffee. Perfect timing for a warm up ready to play in the rollup at 9am, simple coaching tips to help take your game to the next level and lower your scores.

9 Hole Friday afternoon Playing Lesson with the PGA Professionals - £10pp - Starting 9th May

Anyone is welcome to join one of the Professional Team at 3pm on Friday afternoons for a 9 hole playing lesson! SPECIAL OFFER PRICE of ONLY £10 per person, normally £50 per person.

Hurry up as it is limited to three spaces only on the given dates.

The idea is for you to finish the rest of the round giving the professional enough time to run his Ladies Group Coaching and prepare his feedback notes on the playing lesson, to help you improve your course management and go through it over a pint. Who knows if you even beat him he may have to get you a pint! At the end of the day, what you do on the course is what matters to your scores so why not give it a go?

Let’s Play Golf - Wednesday Afterschool Group Coaching 4-5pm at £7pp

Avon league team

Well done to the Avon league team who drew against Copsewood 3-3 in their first game of the season. The guys had a great day and are looking forward to the next match.

It's 14 clubs for a reason

This week marks the start of a series of articles where we focus on making sure that you are getting the very most out of the clubs in your bag. A key way to do this is to look at your set as one, rather than breaking it down into woods, irons and wedges.

What does your set look like?
As you know, we’re big advocates of custom fitting for golfers of all standards. Many of you have taken advantage of this and are now hitting the ball further and straighter than you ever have before.

While this is fantastic, if you’re hitting your woods further you may have been left with a fiddly gap to your longest iron; likewise, if your new irons are a club longer then you will inevitably have a gap after your PW.

Look at your clubs as a whole
It’s only by looking at your set as a whole that you’ll be able to spot and react to any gaps, meaning you’ll have a club for every shot you could face on the course.
