Golf Manager Message - Reformed, Welcombe GC Committee Dear Member, I hope this week’s newsletter finds you well and enjoying a glimmer of spring; not too long now until Magnolia at The Masters and all that! This week saw the first (and last ever!) Liaison Group meeting of the year, as management and members agreed to reform a ‘working’ Golf Club Committee with effect from 1st April 2018.
Full minutes of the meeting will be sent out in a separate communication, in summary it’s been agreed to have a number of sub-committees, with a representative of these sub-groups reporting into a monthly General Committee Meeting. We were in danger of the general group lacking direction, methodology and growing too large in number, therefore - these specific sub-committees (Rules/Comps, Handicap, Greens, Seniors, Social) will be initially made up of members from the previous Liaison Group, Captain’s and Management. I feel we will all benefit hugely as a golf club making this move.
Its early days, so I will be asking all sub-committees to meet before the next meeting on Monday 19th March. The next general committee meet is likely to agree further officers, a format and duration for each office and sub-group. Whilst most bases are covered within the new structure, we are motivated to include all corners of the club and will ensure this is also covered off at the next meet. More details to follow... Very best regards to all, John Prior. |
