Captain excels under the spotlight

Martin Hallam this year’s captain unbelievably got a hole in one on the 14th hole on his own Captains Day. Martin did not think after already buying every member a drink that he would be forking out for another one after his remarkable hole in one!

We had a great turnout of 90 golfers and 150 for the BBQ, which created an amazing vibe at the club.

Thank you to all the members that supported the event!

Jeremy Mcginn, Richard Grimston, Morgan Jackson and Jonty Edmonds won the team Texas Scramble format by shooting an impressive 11 under par Gross (16.1 under nett).

Dear member,

Could I politely ask all members to ensure the golf club premises and staff are treated with respect at all times and a general behaviour/etiquette is followed. I’ve had feedback recently of one or two scenarios that none of us would be happy about if our son or daughter were on the receiving end of...It’s a minority as ever, so I would ask all members to work with us.

I’m also aware our team is far from perfect, we all work very hard…and don’t always get it right…again we will endeavour to improve service and offerings going forward.

Finally, I’m having to deal with more and more instances of credit/tabs being opened and forgotten to be paid or money handed over that doesn’t cover a bar bill... in some instances, followed by a refusal to pay via walking off from the bar and staff. Taking Tony out of the equation, we have an average age of 20 within the golf bar team…and it’s just not fair on these people. Therefore, unfortunately no credit will be offered with immediate effect.
